PROPERTY TAXES

 

The City of Hudson issues a single property tax bill for the year on January 1, which includes both City and County property taxes.  Quarterly installments are due as follows:


 Installment Due Date Taxes Included:
1 January 31City, County & relevied unpaid Water bills if applicable
2 April 15City & relevied unpaid sewer bills if applicable
3 July 31 City & County
4 September 15    City

 

Penalties for Late Payments are 1% per month. Postmarks are accepted.

 

Note: School property taxes are billed by and payable to the Hudson City School District. See HCSD contact information below. 

 

 

LODGING TAX

 

As of June 2017, providers of short-term lodging are required to assess, collect and remit to the city a 4% lodging tax.

 

Lodging Tax returns are filed quarterly and follow the same schedule as NYS sales tax filings:

Mar - May     January 31
Jun - Aug  April 15
Sep - Nov July 31
Dec - Feb  September 15    

 

You will be required to supply all supporting documentation including but not limited to:

 

  • NYS Sales Tax Filing for the same period
  • Sales reports supplied by third party booking services (ie AIRbnb, VRBO etc) for the filing period
  •  Copy of a manual ledger
  • Tax exempt Certificates for any exempt revenues

The city of Hudson is conducting a Public Auction at

NOON on Saturday, November 4, 2017.

 

This document includes the available properties, minimum bids, and terms and conditions of sale. 

 

Check back for the Bidder Registration Form that must be completed by all prospective bidders. Anyone who does not register will NOT be allowed to bid.

The Bidder Registration Form includes an Affidavit which must be signed in the presence of a Notary Public. A Notary will be available  at Hudson City Hall between 11:30 a.m. and 12:00 noon on the day of the auction.

Fill out this form and return to the Office of the City Treasurer.  The annual application fee is $45 per address plus $15 per room offered for short-term lodging.


The fee for a first-time registration of any new room or property will be prorated from the time of application to March 1. The Treasurer’s Office will calculate your registration fee and issue a bill along with your Certificate of Authority.

DO NOT INCLUDE YOUR REGISTRATION FEE WITH THIS FORM.

 

Beginning March 2018, the annual registration form and fee will be due between March 1 and March 31 of each year. Registration is ANNUAL. You must register even if you are not required to collect and remit the lodging tax.
