New Resident-Helpful Information

                                        

New Residents:               


          Welcome to the City of Hudson! As a convenience to you, our newest resident, the City has assembled some information which may be helpful to you. We encourage you to review this list of information and browse further through the City’s website, cityofhudson.org,  for more helpful information.


Bicycle Registration           

Bicycles are to be registered at the Hudson Department of Youth.

Fee:  $1.00 for a two year period.


Building Permits

Permits are required for construction and/or remodeling projects. Applications and information obtainable from the City’s Code Enforcement Office, 429 Warren Street.


Bus Transportation                                    

City Trolley Bus runs throughout the city. Schedule of Bus stops may be obtained at City Hall. Fees:    $1.00 Adult - .75 for Senior Citizen or Student.

A Private Bus Line travels outside city to nearby shopping centers.


 

Dog Licenses                       

Dogs 3mos of age and older are required to be licensed.  Fees $12.50 for spayed or neutered dog. $20.50 for unpsayed or unneutered dog. Certificate of Rabies Vaccination and spaying /neutering Certificate required. Apply for license at the City Clerk’s Office, City Hall.  



Garbage/Recycling Service

Purchase of Bags required for city pick-up.$3.00 for 30 gallon  bag;  $1.50 for 15 gallon bag.  Refuse and recyclables are picked up on a set schedule.

North side of Warren Street Garbage pick up on Tuesdays;Recyclables – Fridays

South side of Warren Street Garbage pick up on Mondays;Recyclables-Thursdays

LEAF PICK-UP

Bagged leaves are picked up by the Public Works Department on Wednesdays, during the Fall Season.  Dates of  pick- up are announced in the city’s official newspaper-Register Star.


Parking

Night Parking -Alternate side parking in effect unless otherwise posted from12 Midnight -8:00 AM:            Odd side-odd days            Even side – even days


Parking Permits.

Parking Permits are available for use in  Municipal Lots only. .The fee is $125.00 for one year.  Permits for a reserved spot in the South Front Street parking lot for Long Term Parking-$360.00 per year -  180.00 six months.  Permits may be obtained at the City Clerk’s Office, City Hall.


Property Tax Bills

Tax bills are mailed each year and paid in four installments - January, April, July and September.  Questions regarding your bill may be directed to the City Treasurer’s Office at City Hall. Questions regarding the assessment of your property should be directed to the City Assessor at City Hall. 828-3141.


Water and Sewer Bills

Water and Sewer bills are sent out quarterly. Payments due in February, May, August and November.   Contact PublicWorks Department for rates and further information.


Youth Department              

The City of Hudson Department of Youth located at  132 N 6th Street, on the city’s own Oakdale Lake,   provides a diverse mix of recreation programs and activities year round for all age groups. Programs and activities are listed on the city’s web site.
